Safe Ways to Include Videos in the Classroom
Tool #1 |
Tool #2 |
ViewPure is an excellent tool to utilize when including videos within your classroom. This tool allows you to present YouTube videos, but without the ads and suggested videos. After experimenting with this tool I cannot wait to start using it within my classroom. Ads and suggested videos can be very distracting and sometimes inappropriate when presenting a video in class.

TubeChop is a very useful tool to use when presenting videos to your whole class or having students individually watch a video for instruction. TubeChop allows you to take videos and "chop" the portions that you would like to show only to form the video that you want your students to watch. This tool will be excellent to use as Chromebooks are rolled out in our district because teachers can "chop" the videos that they want students to view for specific content and have students view the videos on their Chromebook. This tool is also great because often you only want certain portions of the video to be watched, but it is often challenging to communicate which portions of the video to watch to students.
